When a contractor proved unable to mobilize the resources necessary to keep SmartLink’s deployment of small cellular sites moving forward on schedule, CobbFendley’s Mountain Region operations stepped up to deliver. Frustrated by the delay and aware of our firm capabilities, SmartLink’s PM reached out to Paul Tavella on a Thursday to ask if CobbFendley could assist with topographic survey, fixed-right-of-way mapping, private utility locating, and FAA 1-A certification at each of 24 sites in the Denver Metro area – but the work needed to be completed the following Friday, only six business days away. After a few coordinating phone calls, Paul agreed, and all hands hit the deck. By Monday morning, crews from Albuquerque, Utah, and Denver were in the field collecting data, while a team of ten office production staff processed the relayed information.
“This project required much more than the effort to get the actual work done – project managers across departments and locations collaborated to pool field and office resources, rearrange schedules, and essentially move heaven and earth to get this done,” Vice President Sean Wolfe said of the effort.
