Our Work
Pre-Engineering For Storm Water Drainage Improvements
CobbFendley is currently working with the City of Houston to develop and prioritize infrastructure projects to be recommended for the Five-Year CIP for nearly 20 independent Need Areas. CobbFendley has considered alternative solutions including full reconstruction of streets; selective point repair; overlay existing asphalt streets; sheet flow; storm water conveyance (storm sewer and open ditch); storm water detention and outfall size adequacy.
CobbFendley’s tasks included visiting each area to assess and document existing conditions and special concerns, which then allowed the Team to define specific needs or issues and then analyze alternative solutions. Preliminary drainage system models were developed to identify proposed system sizes for alternative solutions and to estimate detention volumes required to mitigate any adverse impact to the receiving systems. Additionally, CobbFendley has performed detailed analysis for regional impact mitigation facilities associated with need areas in both Sharpstown and west Houston area. CobbFendley has direct public interaction by providing the City support for public meetings with presentation materials, meeting attendance and reporting public concerns.
