Our Work
Line F Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD)
CobbFendley provided the engineering, design and construction management services for relocating the existing “Line F” gas pipeline. The existing pipe had to be relocated to allow for the Highway I-35N widening project in Denton, County, Texas. CobbFendley designed a total of three Horizontal Direction Drills as part of the project to relocate 11,000 linear feet of 16-inch high pressure pipeline. The drills included Lake Lewisville crossing, Copperas Branch Lake crossing, and a road crossing.
The Lake Lewisville bore, at 1,600 linear feet, was the longest of the HDD segments and was complicated because of an especially restrictive TxDOT right-of-way. The bore design had to include a built in “s” curve to avoid all the restrictions. CobbFendley provided preliminary design, access details, plans, profiles and parameters. CobbFendley also provided the completed final design and assistance with traffic control plans, field survey, and permitting services.
