Our Work
Cochise Substation Feeder
CobbFendley assisted Texas-New Mexico Power on the design of a new overhead feeder serving as a redundant circuit from the Cochise Substation 6.12 miles east to tie back into original distribution line in case of power outages and or fault current along main route. Plan and profile, as well as a TxDOT permit were required at the feeder exit underneath the highway. To ensure NESC compliance, pole loading analyses of necessary poles were performed. The project included researching and identifying land owners along the proposed circuit route, negotiating and acquiring easements, surveying proposed easement areas, staking pole locations, preparing construction plans including a directional bore, and obtaining TxDOT permits. CobbFendley’s multiple services approach presented a “concept to completion team” enabling the client to use one firm throughout the design and construction phases of the project.
