HOUSTON, TX – Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. (CobbFendley) was selected by the City of Greenville in January 2020 to prepare paving and drainage plans, specifications, and engineering to replace the existing pavement and drainage system for Sayle Street between Kari Lane and Joe Ramsey Boulevard. This critical connector in the City of Greenville has deteriorated to a point where the entire roadway and drainage system must be reconstructed with improvements added to accommodate pedestrians. The existing roadway was originally constructed more than 100 years ago and serves many residences, churches, a high school and a fire station.
CobbFendley is leading the design for the paving and drainage system, which will include the removal of 1.5 miles of existing 41-foot wide asphalt pavement and storm sewer system. Improvements include roadway reconstruction using 41-foot wide reinforced concrete pavement, a storm sewer system designed to current city standards, pedestrian improvements and a 12-inch water line. CobbFendley will assist the City of Greenville with bidding and construction services upon competition of design. The construction cost of these improvements is estimated at $9.2 million.
